Chamber
From 2019–2021, I led Beer and Brass, an experimental chamber series showcasing repertoire for brass quintet paired with beer from local craft breweries in Miami. In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic forced the quintet to reimagine our original concept. This led to a recording of Giancarlo Castro's Festival Quintet. Commissioned and premiered by the quintet, this performance is a reminder of the creativity and adaptability showcased by many musicians during the pandemic.
I’ve performed with many fantastic trombone players over the years. Chase Waterbury, Guangwei Fan, Noah Roper and I commissioned and premiered Amuse-bouche, a wonderful work for low brass quartet composed by Tim Higgins, Principal Trombone with the San Francisco Symphony. This work was a joy perform and the collaborative rehearsal process shared with my colleagues is a highlight of my career.
Another pandemic project was a recording of Anton Brucker’s Vexilla Regis, his final chorale motet. Spearheaded by my friend and fellow tubist, Jarrett McCourt, this recording was done completely remote.
Studio
I have a long list of recording credits including big-budget video games, Emmy award-winning television shoes, and more.
Dota2 is a online multiplayer game from developer and publisher Valve. It’s an influential game at the center of the growing world of esports with an average daily player count of about 500,000 players from across the globe. The video here features moments from a series of recording sessions that I took part in back in 2015.
